We've been told for so long that government is the enemy, it's easy to forget that the government is us.
We vote, we pay taxes, we are citizens and the government is merely the instrument we have chosen to do our business.
That's why we have the right to know what government's doing. And that's why open-records laws are essential.

We are in a battle with corporatist in our city council over privatization of our water. They have engaged in secret negotiations with RWE, selling us out to this corrupt multinational. Secrecy is a big issue here at home.
