MARY JO MELONE--Why on earth did female voters help elect Arnold?

Why on earth did female voters help elect Arnold?
By MARY JO MELONE, Times Staff Writer
Published October 12, 2003

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What a world. Voters have elected a serial groper to be governor of California.

And women helped put him there.

According to exit polls, 44 percent of Arnold Schwarzenegger's voters were women.

Whatever were they thinking?

That the devil made him do it? That all men are dogs and can't help themselves?

Or that the women who pointed the finger at Schwarzenegger were lying or acting as pawns of the Democrats?

1. I wish the LA Times would have run the groping stories a month earlier
That way it would have had time to sink in--many people--wrongfully--thought it was a last-minute smear. A few months from now people will realize just how awful Ah-nuld is, and it's too friggin' late!

2. Susan Estrich saw nothing wrong with Arnold's behavior
But, if Clinton was alleged to do any single one of these actions, Estrich would pounce all over him!

7. It wasn't just women, even some 'liberals' voted for Swartzengroper
He got support from Hispanics, I guess there is a short memory of the repukes effort for Prop 187. The recall failed in LA County and in the Bay Area. The rest of the State is dumber than a bag of rocks. I live in California. Those that voted for that smuck should live to regret, but being as dumb as they are, they won't know who really is at fault. The trouble, Dear Brutus, lies not in our stars, but in ourselves. I have two things to say: 1 - Pete Wilson found a way around term limits, and 2 - You can tell when Swartzengroper is lying, Wilson's lips move.

9. I shook my head also...
I think some of the yes on the recall votes
went to Arianna, but they did go to Arnold also...
I have to believe they are in denial of who this
man really is.

8. Gropenator needs to be prosecuted.
Some of the victims need to come forward so the "Gropenator" can be prosecuted. We are a nation and a state of laws. We have zero tolerance for molesters and/or other criminals.

11. It was Maria........Maria.......Maria.....
That's what it was. I hate to say it but it was the "Clinton factor." If your wife stays by your side then how could the stories be true. We have to face it. And, that she was a Kennedy and attractive (if in an emaciated way) didn't hurt either. Beauty, Brains, Career, and a famous family. That's what did it.

12. Come on, Maria.....
Maria is such a feminist icon, I can hardly believe it myself. ;) :eyes:

Doing what she can to protect her husband and throw away any last shred of personal dignity she may have had. ;) Keep those home fires burning, girlfriend. You are an inspiration to us all. :(
