If Rove were a Democrat, he'd be shot
By George McEvoy

Palm Beach Post Columnist

Saturday, July 16, 2005

I'm certainly happy that George W. Bush and Karl Rove are not Democrats. If they were, just imagine the mess this country would be in right now, even worse than the mess it is in.

First, there would be cries of "treason" directed at Mr. Rove from the Republican ranks. Some of the more overheated members of Congress would demand that he be taken immediately out back of the Capitol and shot by a firing squad.

After all, he revealed the identity of a covert CIA agent, did he not?

As for his alibi that he never mentioned the name of agent Valerie Plame to columnist Robert Novak, the Republicans would laugh out loud. What he did tell Mr. Novak was that "the wife" of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson worked for the secret agency. Mr. Wilson had been openly critical of some of President Bush's falsehoods that led us into war in Iraq, and this was the White House's way of getting even.

What Sandy Berger was up to.

Knowing what was going on there would be quite enlightening.

3. Hope Limbaugh reads this...not that he would believe the truth
if he were slapped in the face with it.

4. This is so true. They are such hypocrites!
What I don't understand is why the public doesn't see this. I'll never understand the American public...

6. Upon review...
It seems obvious what the Dems need to do...

They need to show the same 'Fire and Brimstone' that 'Republicans' did in '98.

They need to get a group of 30 Congress-critters and at least 8 Sen-ators railing about "Outing a covert Operative!", "Compromising a National Security Asset!", and of Course... "Commiting acts of Treason!"

Shit, if the Democrats realized that all they had to do was use the same tactics against their opponents that their opponents have applied for years, they'd be invincible even WITH the machines in place.

Think of the psychology here... We (Americans) want a 'big, strong, macho daddy to 'protect us'.

That is exactly why Bush has captured as much support as he has.

It's emotional. A good salesman sells on emotion.
Nearly everyone on this site understands that.

So what the HELL have the Dems been doing?

Trying to 'look' reasonable.

Check this out people; If you want to win the affection of America, you first learn how to gain the affection of just one person... and then another, and so on.

I'll bet ** was pretty damn good at baggin' chicks.

Whether abstruse and creepy or not... it translates perfectly.

Now the Dems need to learn 'How to pick up constituents' from the empathy/FaB line.
