Karl Rove, Whistleblower
You wondered how the RW would spin this? Here's how.

Rove isn't just innocent, you see. He's a hero.

From the Wall Street Journal

Democrats and most of the Beltway press corps are baying for Karl Rove's head over his role in exposing a case of CIA nepotism involving Joe Wilson and his wife, Valerie Plame. On the contrary, we'd say the White House political guru deserves a prize--perhaps the next iteration of the "Truth-Telling" award that The Nation magazine bestowed upon Mr. Wilson before the Senate Intelligence Committee exposed him as a fraud.

For Mr. Rove is turning out to be the real "whistleblower" in this whole sorry pseudo-scandal. He's the one who warned Time's Matthew Cooper and other reporters to be wary of Mr. Wilson's credibility. He's the one who told the press the truth that Mr. Wilson had been recommended for the CIA consulting gig by his wife, not by Vice President Dick Cheney as Mr. Wilson was asserting on the airwaves. In short, Mr. Rove provided important background so Americans could understand that Mr. Wilson wasn't a whistleblower but was a partisan trying to discredit the Iraq War in an election campaign. Thank you, Mr. Rove. ...

2. Yea, they read this article on cspan this morning.
Seems to me I heard Melman say it that way too on several programs yesterday.

All I can say is goo try folks. It won't affect Fitz's efforts and that's really what's important.

4. Nuts...plain nuts
The whole premise of this argument is that Wilson was not credible.

Uh...didn't we learn that he was extremely credible and that Saddam was not acquiring yellow cake for Niger? Why, yes we did! Hmmm...this would make Wilson...oh, how do you say it? CREDIBLE!

Boy, the conservatives have lost their way, haven't they? We need to scream from the rooftops constantly that the conservatives have lost their identify. They now are simply parrots for a discredited, untruthful administration that is anything but conservative.

Fools.

14. There all on the same team.
PNAC - the top exchelon of the make-it-happen boys.
Think tanks - the possibility seekers/explorers.
Societies Foundations Organizations - the direction pointers and the directive givers and funders
Congress - some of whom grease the path
Judges - at all levels
Reverends and the NRA - to contain the base
Administration - to pretend that we are a democracy
Military and Corporations - to make sure all select people make money
Media - help dis-assemble and proccess reality so that no one knows what the truth is except that the car chase with the guy in the white van ended with the guy hitting another car.

5. Thank you, Judas, for exposing Jesus as an insurgent against Rome.
Not that anyone involved is Jesus, and not that Rove has anywhere near the integrity of Judas up until his final hour.

The WSJ is disgusting in its craven grasp for power.

20. Wall St. Journal Went Off The Rails In Reagan's "Morning"
and hasn't come back into Reality ever. 25 years of paranoid PNAC fantasy. I don't think the editors even read the numbers they publish, since they think it's still morning in America and we're #1 in everything.

9. This is unbelievable.
I can't even believe what I am reading in the press about this case. For the first time I am truly, deeply afraid about the future of my country. I wonder just how many RW shills are out there in the media. Because at this point it seems like pretty much all of them are getting a nice paycheck from the WH. And they have progressed to blatant, outright, lies because there is nobody except us "angry Left" to say otherwise.

Without a free and honest press, our nation is doomed. And I have no idea what to do about it. I am incredibly frustrated and angry and sad this morning.

10. This, my friends, is the face of American Fascism. This is how
they do it and this is a very plain expression of why they do it. The Republicans and others who support George W. Bush, "Our Great Leader", are not patriots, but worshipers of their Great Leader. They don't give two pisses about the United States of America; they only care about their "Great Leader" and His followers - that is their "nation" and where their loyalties lie.

If this editorial, from the Wall Street Journal, does not make it clear to you that we are dealing with fascists, then nothing will - short of the internment camps. We are at war and the enemy is among us...

11. It's time for the the WSJ to be investigated for pay-offs. What
arrogance. My gut tells me that they are L Y I N G.

L Y I N G L I A R S - they always have been since they outed themselves as right wing partisans.

They reached their pinnacle this morning.

Are they worse than FOX?

13. This is now a case about "CIA nepotism" ?!!
How inane and ridiculous. This is the best they could do? Do we really think Fitzgerald is investigating a case of CIA nepotism?
Like an unpaid trip to Niger was something to covet - 2nd prize was two trips to Niger. And who was ultimately right? The Iraq War and the whole WMD lie has been discredited by everyone. There is no longer even any pretense that was the reason we went. Now the history rewriters are telling us it was always about liberating Iraq and bringing democracy to the Middle East. Oh yeah, and they always told us it would be a "generational" struggle.

This editorial is desperate twisting and posturing on the part of the WSJ. It is similar to that nitwit Gibson on Fox saying Rove should be given a medal for outing Plame. This paper and Fox and all the right-wing chorus will never change the fact that what is being investigated is TREASON - not nepotism.

Riddle me this you conservative dissemblers.

Did Plame have the authority to assign Joe Wilson the assignment?
Was Joe Wilson right about the Niger claim?
Did Dick Cheney prod the CIA about the Niger claim?

17. It's time to start talking about a separation. This is too ridiculous.
We need to take our Constitution and Bill of Rights, especially to vote, assemble, and speak our mind and get the heck away from these nuts.

Le the WSJ write to the ceos and politicos who are running their own country of fervent imperialists and religious fanatics.

Let them pay for their own right wing media and let their own fight in their own imperialistic wars.

This is absolutely unbelievable that the WSJ would pimp this hard.

You can see who believes in and works the hardest at manufacturing wars and who doesn't care about people.

They are all coming out.

18. The Committee Report
is here: http://www.gpoaccess.gov/serialset/creports/iraq.html

It's pretty tough on Wilson and Plame, but it in no way discredits him, and it certainly doesn't "expose him as a fraud." The WSJ editorial staff are just parroting the latest set of RNC talking points. More Bushco propaganda.
