article on ret. Gen. Wesley Clarke (esquire)

"G.Gordon Liddy says the Democrats haven't given the president enough credit. I think the president deserves full credit. In fact, I think he should be held fully accountable."

It's just one quote in a decent story on the person many think would stand the best chance to stand up to W's false bravado and flag embracing love for war. While many here are already familiar with the man and his deeds and words I thought it might be ok to post this as a reminder or a first peek for those who haven't heard much of him. Unfortunately, it's only available in the current issue of Esquire and not online yet.

"there has been since 9/11 a chill on dialogue in this country...you only have to listen to talk radio or watch Mike Savage on MSNBC, and you'll see the spirit of what's out there."

While he may be saying some similar things as other candidates it's good to see a high profile general who at least has the same thinking as liberals.

anyone else seen this article and what did you think?

2. that's just it
I haven't been able to find an online link to all of Esquire's print articles. I imagine it has something to do with them wanting people to buy their magazines, otherwise I would provide a link. sorry

The August edition of Esquire magazine has hit the stands. The article on Wesley Clark is very in depth and fair. It doesn't try to paint a rosy picture of the General, but he still comes across as someone who would make an extraordinary president. He has the right abilities to improve America immediately and also strengthen it for the decades to come.

I'm going to a Clark meet-up tonight @ 7:00 p.m. EST.

4. Me too
I'm going to a Clark meetup tonight too. I contributed early to Dean, and the grassroots campaign that his supporters (not Dean himself) have created is a great omen for Democrats, but I think Clark has the potential to be a stronger candidate. To the guy who said he wasn't interested in a "militarist": then you might be interested in Clark.

6. I'm In the Same Boat
I've also contributed money and time to Dean's campaign, but I also believe that Clark would be a better candidate to take on this administration and win back the White House.

7. Just like me
I too contributed a big check to the Dean campaign, but I'm really, really excited about Clark! There seem to be a lot of us.
