Building a Theocracy: the Ohio Model (Ohio Restoration Project)
Edited on Tue May-17-05 02:14 AM by Shallah
http://americablog.blogspot.com/2005/05/building-theocracy-ohio-model.html

In their free time, when not trying to bully Bill Frist so they can usurp the federal government and the US Constitution, the theocrats are busy out in the real world. Here's the plan for Ohio's Theocracy, the Ohio Restoration Project. Their overview gives a good sense of what they are about:

The Stewardship of our Citizenship is crucial to this hour. The Sacred Trust of Freedom has been purchased with a purpose. From America’s beginning, the Mayflower Compact openly declares that our forefathers were birthing this nation for “the advancement of the Christian faith.” All 50 of our state constitutions acknowledge and give honor to the Lord. The declaration of Independence declares that we are "endowed by our Creator, with certain inalienable rights." With only 5% of the world's population, God has blessed the United States with nearly 40% of the world's wealth. Now more than ever, we are convinced that God has blessed this nation with resources to share the light of God's Word with a world lost in darkness. America has had a mission to share a living Savior with a dying world.

During the past 50 years, that mission has come under heavy spiritual warfare. Recently, the birth pains have increased in frequency and intensity. The forces of hell understand Biblical prophecy better than most people sitting in the pews on Sunday morning. The intensity of the warfare for the heart and soul of America is escalating:

They cover a lot of ground there covering education, gays, choice, judges. They don't miss much. These people are scary....but only in the name of God. And who knew that Ohio was god's chosen land?

This bunch reminds me of Christian Exodus ( http://www.christianexodus.org ) who are tying to get enough fundamentalistChristianss to move to South Carolina that they can then secede from the USA. They want nothing less than a theocracy.

edited because Imisspelledt the exodus link :b

1. AAAWWWW
Fundies want to destroy America and the world with it.

If they want to have their own nation, I say find an island they can move to and let them have at it. I bet no one would trade with them, UN won't deal with them, and be a joke in history.

2. I would love it if the
"Christians" who hate the rest of us WOULD go off to some useless corner of the US and get the fuck out of my sight. Then the country would see that the average Christian is not a screwball.

7. ANYWHERE but Illinois. They'd choke on the blueness,
and then we'd have to care for these immigrants.

4. The last time there was a break from the US
it lasted 4 WHOLE YEARS, and it ended pathetically. That was 140 years ago, and they still haven't gotten over it. They still celebrate CSA holidays!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!

9. Have you ever noticed how all these RW types quote . . .
documents like the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers rather than the actual Constitution of the United States?

There are damned good reasons why the founding fathers rejected those documents when they wrote the Constitution.

Geez. And the RW whines about "activist judges" ignoring the "original intent" of the constitution. The "original intent" was to prevent this sort of nonsense.
