Ken Schram Commentary: Disagreeing Doesn't Mean We're Un-American

September 19, 2003

By Ken Schram

SEATTLE - So, it's not just me.

Read Joel Connelly's column in Friday's Seattle P-I.

Read Ellen Goodman's column in the Seattle Times Friday.

Or, just give my friend Mikey a call.

Mikey stopped me yesterday to comment on how viciously strident conservative broadcasters have become.

How Limbaugh, Hanity and O'Reilly, for example, figure that if we don't support President Bush in EVERY instance, on EVERY issue, at ALL times, then we are un-American.

That's it's not enough to merely mistrust liberals or moderates, we must disdain them, or we are un-American.

That if we don't let right-wing anally-conservative broadcasters do our thinking; if we don't strictly adhere to their every proclamation, we're un-American.

2. ya right
the last thing I heard from this guy was on his gig on TV, where he was yapping about what an embarrassment MM was at the Oscars. So now he likes dissent? Doubt it, he is defiantly part of the big repthug noise machine.

3. That's what I thought too
but if he believes what he says (and I think he does) then its even better. If the right wingers are getting too much for him, this is great. I sent the article to my rw brother and cousin.
