1. Great read, thanks.
I would hope that Time Magazine has many cancellations due to their poor judgment.

I am offended and ashamed that my country is stooping so low these days.

2. Not quite out of the park though...
Gene's explanation of Coulter's inaccuracies seems too much a rehash of Franken's magnum opus. C'mon, there's gotta be more to her BS stash than the Earnhardt/Thomas lies.

3. of course there is more to her lies than earnhardt and thomas
Edited on Wed Apr-27-05 12:53 PM by enki23
but the thomas lie is especially serious, as it's clearly a lie, clearly slanderous, possibly libelous, and very clearly plagarism.

in a reasonable society, that alone would end any reason to even discuss her seriously. there is almost no way that could have been a mistake. it was a *lie.* a whole string of lies. so she's a proven liar and plagarist, end of story. relegate her to corporate brunch gigs and college republican circle jerks. no self-respecting media source should ever give her a serious hearing ever again.

of course, we don't live in a reasonable society.

4. No, we don't, unfortunately.
And doesn't it rile you to no end when these blowhards get away with the 'oh, I didn't lie, I made a mistake' line? Because, of course, if you BELIEVE something to be true (e.g. Earnhardt or Canada fighting by our side in Vietnam or winning a Peabody), then the other side has to give you credit. Nice setup, huh?

6. Journalism and commentary in the Bush/Rove age

Outright fabrication and blatant falsehood are OK if you are popular on TV.

7. It is occasionally fun
to see the GOP blonde bitch shown for what she is. I'd hate to have to do the slow and laborious work involved in tracking down the quotes, because it spoils the soul digging through those piles of feces.

But, I have to say, yay, Anne, you're a stinky liar and spiritually ugly to boot.
