An arms company that was involved in making components used in the Iraq war went to the High Court yesterday in a bid to stop protesters from making abusive comments outside its premises.
EDO, a US company with a subsidiary in Brighton, had its case adjourned while the activists it has issued with intended injunctions have time to garner additional evidence. The protesters are thought to be the first outside the animal rights movement to find themselves issued with intended injunctions at the High Court. <snip>
A spokesman for Smash EDO said: "This injunction is totally out of proportion. It essentially bans an entire British city from peaceful anti-war protest."
