The republicans are bad for life -- human life, animal life, plant life, the life of the planet. They are the epitome of greed & someday the sheeple are going to wake up to a desolate world stripped of all beauty ask, "What happened?"

2. Seeing as how we won't have much oil by 2050, we'll have to stop using it.

The reality is that oil won't be gone by then but it will be much more expensive. It will be used to make plastics, not to be burned for transportation.

Interesting article though, thanks for posting it.

Lovins may or may not be right but it sounds credible. But 2050 is a long time from now; there should be more options for energy by then, to replace fossil fuels. Fusion power is starting to look better (according to the scientists designing ITER, the demonstration project to be built in about 10 years); and solar is gradually going down in price.
