Converging U.S. Navy aircraft carrier groups ...
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 11:56 PM by Meeker Morgan
... in Middle East send strong message to Iran and Syria.

The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt is on the move in Atlantic Ocean and is possibly headed towards the Mediterranean Sea. The convergence of three carrier groups in the corridor of the Middle East will send very strong message to the Syrians and Iranians. There are indications that soon US is moving two more aircraft carrier battle groups to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf. This will spell a formidable strike force for Iran and Syria who are in defiance on issues of Lebanon and Nuclear weapons development....

Got 'em surrounded. Woo-ee! :puke:

I wonder what's doing in the Pacific what with North Korea and Taiwan?

3. I dunno. Lots of noise being made.
I haven't read anything about troop movements yet,
except maybe the "exercise" in S. Korea, and I simply am
not ready to believe S. Korea wants to pick a fight now.

The China-Taiwan thing is hard to figure, although China
seems to be asserting itself of late, and it might just
be Hu letting everybody know he is the big swinging dick
on the block now. Taiwan has been pushing things also of
late, so it could be a response.

The one thing that is interesting is: if you consider that Israel,
Taiwan, and S. Korea are all US client states and there is a
clear decline in US "global influence" due to being hamstrung in
Iraq, and in all of these situations there appears to be movement
or noise being made in formerly intractable and stagnant issues.

I sense a shift in the force. Stay tuned.

4. Israel attacks
Iran counter-attacks, and the US carrier groups pound the shit out of the Iranian flank. Only way Iran can head this off is to detonate one of their nukes in a demonstration, BEFORE, the Israelis hit them. They might do it. They're quite intelligent and less prone to impotent posing, like the Arab counties (w/ the exception of Saudi A.)

5. Oooh, sitting ducks
Fun with carriers in the Gulf. If, as rumor states, Iran has Sunburn missiles, then they won't need nukes to take out a carrier or two. Apparently the Sunburn has the range and firepower to do lots of damage. I think a move against Iran is insanity and will start WWIII.

Besides, I have relitives there and I really don't want them hurt.
