Ward Churchill: Who's the Terrorist?
Who's the Terrorist?

Once again what I have said has been turned into the opposite of itself.

First, Dan Caplis, Craig Silverman and numerous other right-wing media spinmeisters asserted that I "advocated" terrorist attacks on the United States in my Op-Ed piece of Sept. 12, 2001. Even a casual reading of that piece, as well as the 300-page book On the Justice of Roosting Chickens in which I more fully explicated and documented my argument, reveals that I did not advocate such attacks. Rather, I pointed out that they were and will continue to be the inevitable result of a U.S. foreign policy that disregards the rule of law and results in massive death and destruction abroad.

Next, the dynamic duo and their colleagues attempted to discredit me through an endless stream of personal attacks. These have failed because the facts, even though not reported in the media, do not support their assertions.

Now, in both a paid ad and a prominently featured Op-Ed piece March 5 in the News ("Churchill's active advocacy of violence demands his firing"), Caplis and Silverman have resorted to the outright lie that I have actively sought to incite "violent revolution."

1. Watch Free Speech TV today. 3/28-05
Churchill was on for an hour explaining his positions..The disappointment...Informed people here at DU can believe the propoganda put up against dissenters...They manipulate the speakers truth to cut off their message...
The same is going on now with Juan Cole , a U o Mich. Professor who has a web site to explain the situation in the middle east....The Repug legislature of Fla.just passed a ruling against 'terrorist liberals.' This is BS...They want your news filtered/censored..These people are very informed citizens challenging Bush's lies..Freepers such as David Horowitz are out to destroy Free Speech..Learn for yourself what these academics are saying..Don't let the message be filtered through a collaborative media...Find out for yourself..
The Univ. Of Colo. board today found nothing offensive about Churchill's speech....Certainly not controversial..Those needing be challenged are the likes of Colo. Gov. Bill Owens who are grandstanding for political points among the uninformed...

2. This is an excellent opportunity to make a splash.
I firmly believe that these are interesting times we live in, and we need to ensure that history remembers the actions of us, liberals, in the face of these conservative attacks on everything that America stands for.
Every crisis is an opportunity...
