Tampa Tribune: Outing A White House `Reporter'
http://www.tampatrib.com/News/MGBTXP7TI5E.html

For two years a man named Jeff Gannon attended White House press briefings as a reporter for a conservative online news service with ties to a Texas Republican activist.
A few weeks ago he even asked President Bush a sympathetic question at a press conference.

Shortly afterward, liberal bloggers - writers who report from their own online sites - found out that Jeff Gannon isn't really Jeff Gannon. He's Jim Guckert, a guy with little, if any, training in journalism. Moreover, he apparently has another career as a $200-an-hour escort. His photographs appear on gay Web sites. When this information was made public, he resigned his day job.

What do we make of all this? Some conservative bloggers claim the liberals wanted Gannon's scalp because his questions and writings favored the president. The liberal writers say that's not true. They decry Gannon's ``family values hypocrisy'' and shift the focus to concerns about media manipulation and the president's safety.

Gannon's presence in the White House is an issue because the administration has paid commentators like Armstrong Williams to push the president's message. By adopting such a practice, the administration has left itself open to the suggestion that it would place a plant among the press gallery.

3. Tampa Trib is a Red Paper
Edited on Thu Feb-24-05 09:19 AM by hnsez
Its amazing to see this in the Tampa Trib. I bet the reporter gets reassigned to covering the local ice hockey team.

A few facts about the Tampa Tribune:

1) they endorsed Bush for reelection

2) they were spoon fed information about al arian right after his arrest that was misleading - wrote an article about how when his house was searched they found "information & maps" about Macdill military base (implying he was casing the base) & never mentioned that Macdill had hired him twice to go on-base and lecture them about the middle east - when you go through the gate they give you a map.

3) Jesse Jackson was in Tampa running for president giving a speech and stated that when he was trying to decide if he should run he called up his friend, governor wallace of alabama and asked him if he thought he should run gov wallace said 'if you have a constituency to represent then you should run'. I was there at the speech and heard the entire thing. The next day the Tampa Tribune runs an article about how Jackson had claimed that Wallace had endorsed him and the governors office was denying it. This was blatant lying by the Tribune to make up a story.

Don't trust these people, if they give an inch its to cover up something else.
