Editorial: Bush’s ‘fixing’ only puts seniors in a fix

I think opposition is growing to the Bush SS plan.

Somebody stop President Bush before he "fixes" something else -- please! The White House handyman, who is currently trying to convince Congress that Social Security needs to be privatized,has announced that he now also has Medicare in his cross hairs.


"Obviously I’ve chosen to deal with Social Security first. Once we modernize and save Social Security for a young generation of Americans, then it’ll be time to deal with the unfunded liabilities of Medicare," the president declared last week.

Thanks for the warning.

Considering Bush plans to replace what some consider the most successful social service program in history with risky personal investment accounts, it is unnerving to consider what he might have in mind for Medicare.
