Silence is Not an Option
I am a 9/11 person and while I do not agree with Churchill’s comments, I defend them as a citizen who values democracy first and foremost. He happens to miss the point that our own administration attacked us. That is neither here nor there, however, since my entire rant is about something else altogether.
What my rant is about has more to do with the death of the fourth estate than about the crimes of this administration. You see, crooks, murders, liars, criminals, etc., are what they are and by their very nature do what they do. The fourth estate is charged with keeping “them” away from “us” by presenting us with truth, fact, reality.
I will not list the many crimes the fourth estate has committed against this nation here since we know them all too well. What I will say is that their disingenuous cooing over the hurt feeling of 9/11 victims (they need not speak for me) are more offensive to me than anything Churchill could have said ten times over. They had no problem exploiting Bush’s political propaganda drills showing a little girl who had lost a parent on 9/11. People who were directly affected by 9/11, those with whom I have spoken, found that beyond offensive. What hypocrisy.
I feel like a rape victim who, in court, is raped all over again by the legal system; compounded by the tabloid fodder mentality of this media whore called the fourth estate.
Ann Coulter who went on national television to scream that we should nuke everyone, attack everyone, kill all Muslims and such; did so as a representative of this administration on a supposed news show.
Her actions are akin to screaming “fire in a crowded” world-sized “movie-theater” and amounts to “dare-a-terrorist” on national TV.
Churchill is a professor. There is a distinct difference between the intellectual musings of a professor and in a supposed journalist, a representative of this administration even who threatens our national security by demanding that we kill all Muslims on national/international television. The only sense of comic relief I find in all of this is that under the Patriot Act that Ann Coulter can (and should) be arrested for “inciting terrorist” activity.
Yet the entire media madhouse has gone to great lengths in presenting this argument (fire/movie theater) with regard to Churchill. It is buffoonery at its finest and whoring at its most obvious. If I had the money to hire an attorney, I would file a class action lawsuit against the entire lot of them for violating my civil rights.
We should be screaming down with Ann Coulter, not Churchill. We should be screaming down with Wolf Blizter, Novak, Zhan, and Joe S, and not Churchill. We should be screaming out out damn spot and we should be washing our hands of this entire fallacy called compassionate murderers. I may not agree with Churchill, but I will not allow the tragedy of what happened to me on 9/11 to be used over and over for whorish and political puppet shows. I will not be raped by these people over and over and over. Consider this as an open letter to the former fourth estate, who feels at liberty to trample on the bodies of 9/11 victims; a liberty the dead do not have and cannot use to defend themselves against such whoring. The living victims can speak out, however, and some of us do have a loud and booming voice, and some of us have a pen, and some of us even have both to use in a venue far larger than the boob box.
If the old fourth estate, the Associated Farce, wants to smear Churchill, then I ask fellow journalists in joining me to sharpen our own pens and tune up the volume of our own voices. Silence is not an option.
