Ann Coulter Sticks Her Entire Leg in Her Mouth
by Doug Ireland

Ann Coulter is a loudmouth ignoramus who spouts her outrageous nationalist inaccuracies on American television
with little challenge from the empty talking heads who interview her. But she finally found someone to stand up to
her, in Canada--and she was exposed for the arrogant fool she is. Interviewed by the Canadian Broadcasting
Company's Bob McKeown for the investigative TV broadcast "The Fifth Estate," which devoted an hour-long
January 26 special to how U.S. media have been highjacked by conservative bullies, Coulter was berating Canada for
not sending troops to Iraq when she displayed her empty-headedness in the following exchange:

Coulter: "Canada used to be one of our most loyal friends and vice-versa. I mean Canada sent troops
to Vietnam - was Vietnam less containable and more of a threat than Saddam Hussein?"

McKeown interrupts: "Canada didn't send troops to Vietnam."

Coulter: "I don't think that's right."

this may be old news, but the title was so fitting it had to be posted.

2. I love CBC
I live in MI. so CBC is a local channel here.
I saw the fifth estate that night and the whole thing was fantastic.
I watch The National a lot too, much better coverage than any thing we see on American T.V.

3. If you follow the first link in the article
You come to the other leg in her mouth. I didn't know about this exchange between her and Chris Matthews.

"She claimed that the movie Patton was made by Holly-libs with "hatred in their hearts" for George S. Patton, the brilliant but erratic World War II general. These filmmakers "intended to make Patton look terrible," she maintained, but because they produced an accurate work, the movie ended up making "Patton look great and people loved him."

Was Patton a left-wing Hollywood conspiracy that backfired? Host Chris Matthews immediately challenged her in his subtle fashion: "You are dead wrong." He pushed her for proof, and she replied, "That is why George C. Scott turned down his Academy Award for playing Patton." Coulter was suggesting that Scott had spurned his Oscar because the filmmakers plan to destroy Patton's image by portraying the general "as negatively as possible" had gone awry.

Matthews wasn't buying. "Who told you that, who told you that?" he shouted. Her Oracle-like response: "It is well known." She added, "Why did you think he turned down the award, Chris? You never looked that up? It never occurred to you?"

Matthews retorted, "Because he said he wasn't going to a meat parade, because he didn't believe in award ceremonies." And Matthews was right. Following the show, I took Coulter's advice and did look it up. I found a 1999 obituary of Scott that noted he had stunned Hollywood in 1971 for being the first person ever to refuse an Academy Award. He had explained his action by slamming such awards as "demeaning" and he had dismissed the Oscar ceremony as a "two-hour meat parade." (Matthews receives extra points for getting this quote correct.) Coulter had twisted this well-documented episode into yet more proof that liberals--especially those in Hollywood--are conspiratorial traitors.

After I described this exchange to someone who once worked with her, he said, "That's Ann. She lives in her own world and she just makes things up." This interlude concerned a small matter. (Who knew we would be debating one of my favorite movies?) But this minor dustup provided evidence to support a serious charge. As Matthews remarked while wrapping up the segment, "Facts mean nothing to you, Ann." If so, why continue to have her on?"

10. Canadians registering and serving in the US Army
is something completely different than Canada entering the war as a participating nation.

Coulter is a spinner but many Americans think Canada sent troops.to VN.maybe they confuse it with WW II or Korean war

12. Not spinning here...
You assume that this is my spin but I earned my right to address VN issues even if a quack like coulter is a liar...Fact is Canadians served and died in VN..Coulter is misinformed and a liar and I do agree..many other Americans think Canada supported the war ..Australia did send troops...
My statement stands Vietnam divides the US to this day ..been there done that..
Canada did not enter VN war but Canadians served there..most folks donnot know this story and the Vets can't get benefits in Canada or USA

14. Totalitarians ALWAYS wither when questioned by Free People
Why should Ann Coulter be any different than the Nazis or Commies before her?

Usually, Totalitarians know on some level that they are living in and supporting a Propaganda-Based Unreality. As a result they tend to shun Free People like the proverbial roaches and bright light.

The Bushevik Version of Goebbelsian Propaganda, like the original, innoculates it's Drones and Commisars like Coulter with the virulent form of Orwellian insanity that makes them believe that Free peoples can be bullied and lied to as easily as the Imperial Subjects of Amerika they have bullied and cowed.

Like Tiberius Bunnypants* when he mistakenly visited that Irish TV Station for an interview, or like Mann Coulter in Canada, Totalitarians endanger their own Structure of Lies by attempting to faced down Free People with their bullshit.

Ineach case, the Free World stood proud in confronting BushPutinist Totalitarian Tyranny, making both the Emperor and his Propaganda Footsoldier run away crying, rhetorically-speaking.

As I said, that is how it almost always is when Totalitarians face off against Free People.

God Bless the Free World, including Canada and Ireland! perhaps one day, Imperial Amerika can emulate these other nations and be free, too.
