Editorial: Nothing but lip service...... ArmyTimes.com
Edited on Mon Jan-31-05 08:18 PM by Jokinomx
This editorial sums it up very well... I for the life of me can't understand how the majority of the Military support the understanding that republicans take better care of them than Democrats. Read on if you want to be disgusted....

>snip<

In recent months, President Bush and the Republican-controlled Congress have missed no opportunity to heap richly deserved praise on the military. But talk is cheap — and getting cheaper by the day, judging from the nickel-and-dime treatment the troops are getting lately.
For example, the White House griped that various pay-and-benefits incentives added to the 2004 defense budget by Congress are wasteful and unnecessary — including a modest proposal to double the $6,000 gratuity paid to families of troops who die on active duty. This comes at a time when Americans continue to die in Iraq at a rate of about one a day.

1. We don't know for a fact how the military families feel, do we?
It's been said before here that if Bush won the military vote, that fact would be trumpeted. Find the numbers. Try!

The ARMY TIMES has been on the side of folks in uniform and not on the side of the BFEE. They deserve all the credit in the world for holding the line against these criminals.

3. I know how THIS military family member feels
and ain't fit for print lol. ;) Seriously, I know some Vets who voted for *, but no service members or their spouses. I'm sure that I do I know them, they just didn't tell me how they voted because no one wants to listen to my lecture lol. I haven't seen any numbers on the military vote, and I find that very strange.

4. It is weird that the Bushies didn't say, Looky here, we got their vote.
And I bet they did not.

I come from a military family, and the thing that gets me most is that these weasels count on our loyalty on one hand, while they cut services, pay and even basic equipment with the other.

Okay, I don't want to get started. I could go on ALL NIGHT.

2. It ain't a waste when it comes to dumping millions of dollars on
his inaugural balls. Don't take that the wrong way.... :)

Anyone see the hypocrisy that this bunch exudes hour by hour, day by day??

5. It's not like they didn't warn us. Beevo, the Longhorn Bull
was the mascot at the first fake "inaugural".

To answer your question, yes. And everytime I listen, read, see or hear them, I want to RUN to the nearest shower.

8. 51% of Diebold voters could only amount to
20 million or so.... if you really think about it...

9. Ah, but where were those placed? Sorry, I'm one of those
I know the election was stolen people. Have you read the response to the Mitofsky "the dog ate my poll" report?

And don't want to reopen this can of tuna. But, but, but. lol

Nevermind about that. We've scared the bejezus outta them by not just tearing up and going away. I hope we continue to not tear up or go away.

10. It's really 30% voted Bush, 29+% voted Kerry and 40% didn't vote or
had their ballots not counted. That's because the 'turnout' was 60%, and as you can figure, 40% of eligible voters didn't even bother...like I found George Carlin didn't when he mentioned this on Tim Russert's show. Ticked me off to no end !
