Azerbaijan Not to Increase Military Contingent in Iraq
Azerbaijan’s peacekeeping contingent will stay in Iraq until the US-led anti-terror operations in the country come to an end, press spokesman for the Defense Ministry Ramiz Malikov told AssA-Irada.

The Azerbaijani government does not intend to expand military contingent in Iraq, he said.

The Iraqi Charge D’affaires in Azerbaijan Sabah Dabbagh told a news conference last week that Baghdad is interested in the expansion of Azerbaijan’s contingent in his country within the multi-national peacekeeping forces.

Azerbaijan’s 159-member military contingent is currently on a peacekeeping mission in Iraq.

1. Don't forget Azerbaijan
Another stalwart democracy, saving Iraq from the scourge of having too much oil.

2. Hey, I was born there, don't bad mouth them
Granted they tried to kill me and my family, and had government sponsored pogroms, but you know, water under a bridge :)

4. Too busy watching
Their borders with Iran, and didnt get the help they expected from the United States in taking over disputed oil fields that they are in disagreement with Iran over.

Whatthey expected was for the U.S. to attack UIraq, adn then expand the war into Iran, and for their meager contingent of troops, but major support of Bush to get these oil fields ceded to them by the United States after the war.
