Group in Fla county sues over vote glitch
A group in Broward county is suing to force an examination of absentee ballots in that county's election. (issue: adding slot machines to racetracks)

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&ncid=696&e=4&u=/ap/20041116/ap_on_el_pr/florida_slot_machines

What I wonder is do they get to examine all the entries on the ballot? If they don't get to check the presidential totals when first examining things, I wonder if a finding of fraud in the count of that total, will trigger recounting the rest of the items on the ballots. Since the question was statewide, could it trigger a full state count?

1. Too large to overlook, wouldn't you say?
From the article:
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Opponents of a measure to add slot machines at south Florida race tracks are demanding a recount in Broward County, insisting there is something strange about a batch of 78,000 absentee votes that helped tip the scales for the proposal.

Gambling opponents said 94 percent of the 78,000 ballots, which were not correctly counted on Election Day, were in favor of the constitutional amendment. That exceeds Broward's countywide approval margin of 70 percent.

"It's a million to one that this could happen somehow by itself," state Rep. Randy Johnson said Monday. "It's bizarre."

Take time to rate the story. Currently it's "Avg Rating: 4.46, 45 votes"

3. This would be so fitting
...catching Shrub and company in widespread election fraud through an investigation into a slot machine issue. A bit like arresting Capone for tax evasion.
