Black Watch may pull out of 'Sunni Triangle' within days
THE Black Watch could be pulled out of the "Sunni Triangle" within days now the US assault on Fallujah is at an end, it emerged yesterday.

Senior commanders have told the government they want the unit to be withdrawn from its role supporting American forces now that the Fallujah operation is drawing to a close.

"If Fallujah finishes sooner than expected, we can bring the Black Watch home early. There is nothing we would like to do more than that."

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Sir Mike Walker, has already informed the US military of the British view, and any decision to keep British forces deployed in central Iraq beyond this period "would be a political decision and militarily irresponsible", according to senior defence sources.

2. POLITICS is exactly why the UK is in Iraq to begin with, and is why BUSH
invaded & occupied Iraq; he needed to be a "war preznit" to get re-elected and he said so himself.

Too bad the US State Stenedia didn't/won't bother to discuss such FACTS.

3. Metered support from *'s staunchest ally.
Although you can't say you blame them - and this couldn't have been a surprise to our pentagon planners.

4. I wonder if ...
... now the chickenhawk freepers will dare to call the Black Watch a bunch of "cheese-eating surrender monkeys".

Cheers
