ANALYSIS-No quick fix for Bush on Iraq security

WASHINGTON, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Even under the best scenario, it will take two months or more to deploy extra international troops to Iraq and this is just one of the hurdles confronting President George W. Bush as he scrambles to impose stability on the occupied country.

In a significant policy shift, Bush dropped his resistance to a broader United Nations role in Iraq in an effort to induce other countries to contribute troops and money.

But he still has to work out terms of his altered approach with U.N. Security Council members, the U.S. Congress and even within his own administration.

1. I have been told by Vets, your ego will get you killed
I think we are seeing another example of this in this administration. He will not put his ego aside and it is going to get him politically killed.

3. drip, drip
Everytime a soldier is killed over there it's drip, drip, drip for this Administration and just a little more lost public support and a few more lost votes each time. I always said that public support for war in Iraq was a mile wide and an inch deep. Sure people will support it if nobody is killed and it doesn't cost anything!
