The program was titled "Moral Victory in America."

James Dobson, founder of Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family, thanked the Lord for saving the nation from a Kerry presidency. He recited a Psalm he admires. It was a very good day.

The child psychologist and influential voice of conservative moral values had a lot riding on the election of 2004.

Earlier this year, he founded a new group, Focus on the Family Action, to concentrate squarely on politics. He endorsed a presidential candidate for the first time: George W. Bush. He barnstormed the country stumping for conservative Republican Senate candidates.

But in one of his first radio broadcasts after Election Day, Dobson was not ready to celebrate. He was livid that centrist Republican Sen. Arlen Specter, in line to become chairman of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee, had declared the Senate unlikely to approve anti-abortion judges.

for us to read. I never actually read them, but I assume they instructed us how to "focus" on our families.

Of course, the same boss insisted that we all work in the office until 6:30 every night and at least half a day on Saturdays. When we pointed out that our children's daycares closed at 6:00, he suggested that we hire nannies to keep the children in our homes so we could work later. He pointed out a couple of women he knew who had two shifts of baby sitters so they could work as long as they needed to.

The hypocrisy of it all never really seemed to become clear to him.

20. the pastor of the church I use to attend

would talk about family time, alone time, quality time, ect. Then he would list of all types of meetings, and gatherings going on at the church. I was pushed to join one and couldn't get there on time. I called him and said I would not be there, he asked why not and I said I couldn't get home and see my family and still get there on time. He said just come from work! I almost dropped the phone. I didn't go cuz it felt more like we were putting on performances for one another, showing up at all these events, witnessing or whatever. It was more like adding up the numbers of people attending and then publishing it and then we were such a good church.

I believe in God and I don't think God is the problem. The problem is religion and these nuts. All the man-made stuff that separates us from one another. If these nuts believe in God, then they must believe He is not threatened by a homosexual or Muslim or Jew. Why do they think we have to kill them or hurt them cuz of God. I think He is capable of protecting Himself if he feels threatened by them.

Maybe we need to sit down and figure these people out the best we can. Maybe that is the only way we will be able to defeat them. Believe in God or nonbelievers ... face that they are a major obstacle to our democracy and try to understand so we can figure out how to stop them? I don't know. They scare me though.

People have, IMHO, paid way too much attention to this guy. He has no theological degree or training that I am aware of, and yet people proclaim his stuff as "ministry."

His roll-over on politics portrays his true agenda. He is closely aligned with the PNACs.

I hope the feds look carefully at his tax-exempt status. Because his name is heavily associated with his "ministry," I cannot see how his technically resigning as head of ministry but remaining on its board absolves him of his political campainging.

I found the article interesting, especially these two statements:

"If the Republicans do what they've done in the past, which is to say, 'Thanks so much for putting us in power, now we don't want to talk to you anymore,' they will pay a severe price in four years and maybe two."


"I don't believe George Bush is ever going to say things in the way we would like for him to," Dobson said. "But he has made the right choices when it matters. I believe he will continue to do so. I'm confident President Bush knows who was responsible for this election victory. I don't believe he will arrogantly disregard them."

And hoards of them obediently do it- tying up switchboards for days on end and pushing until Dobson gets his way. It seems he always does too. As a follower of Jesus, I hate this type of thing with a passion, but I have to admit I will be positively gleeful to see Dobson's fury unleashed on Bush. 25. I read the book, "Dobson's War on America' by Gil Moerle

(not sure I spelled Gil's name right). Loved it. Recommend heartily, along with Rob Boston's "Pat Robertson - the Most Dangerous Man in America." Both books helped me to understand them a bit better. I say 'a bit,' because there doesn't seem to be a logical pattern to their behavior, even when you take their financial and religious beliefs and practices into account.

But, I digress ...

I think maybe Dobson is the most dangerous man in America now ... because he wants to control each and every one of us! And the only one who is going to spank this 45-year-old is my hubby - during fun & games, of course.
