9. It's news when there are NO explosions...
just like it is breaking news now when there are no soldiers killed in a day. ;(

Remember waaaayyyyy back in the very first days of the invasion when it WAS a breaking news story of a soldier killed?

7. link for 11/14/04 :Blast Echoes Near Hotels in Central Baghdad
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - An explosion shook an area of central Baghdad near the office of the New York Times and hotels used by foreigners on Sunday, witnesses said.

Smoke rose over the site of the blast, which scattered shrapnel across nearby streets and appeared to have been caused by a rocket.

There was no immediate word on casualties but the head of security at the New York Times said none of the staff there were hurt. The U.S. military had no immediate comment.

Insurgents bent on expelling U.S.-led troops from Iraq (news - web sites) often fire mortars and rockets at hotels used by foreign journalists and security contractors on the eastern bank of the Tigris river.
