Falluja residents desperate for food, water, aid
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L14458607.htm

FALLUJA, Iraq, Nov 14 (Reuters) - No food. No water. No help. As fierce fighting casts a pall of smoke over the rubble-strewn Iraqi city of Falluja, thousands of Iraqi families remain cut off from desperately needed supplies.

Seven Red Crescent trucks and ambulances have reached the main hospital on the western outskirts, but it is still too dangerous for them to cross the Euphrates river to bring help to locals, including hundreds of children, cut off for six days.

"Our situation is very hard," said one resident contacted by telephone in the central Hay al-Dubat neighbourhood on Sunday.

"We don't have food or water. My seven children all have severe diarrhoea. One of my sons was wounded by shrapnel last night and he's bleeding, but I can't do anything to help him."

2. Yep, we're "tuning the corner"
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 09:22 AM by cubsfan forever
in Iraq. Just like those mountain roads where one turns the corner only to find the abyss yawning at the very next step. Can't go foreword, can't go back. My heart goes out to the innocent people of Iraq and the troops who have been forced into these heinous acts of genocide. The Assholes in the wh have no inkling of the Middle East or Arabic mindset. A millennium is a year. A century is a day. A decade was this morning. They will NEVER forgive us.

5. They will NEVER forgive us - you are right
http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/

"Iraqis will never forgive this- never. It's outrageous- it's genocide and America, with the help and support of Allawi, is responsible. May whoever contributes to this see the sorrow, terror and misery of the people suffering in Falloojeh."

I wish I had the power to put bu$h* and his family and his entire evil cabal right in the middle of Falluja this very moment so they could witness the horror and smell the stench.

3. Rueters yahoo: Falluja Fighting Delays Aid to Iraq Civilians
FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters) - U.S. tanks shelled and machine-gunned rebels still holding out in Falluja on Sunday in fighting that prevented an Iraqi Red Crescent aid convoy from reaching civilians trapped in the city for six days.

"They will not be allowed to cross the bridge today," Marine Captain Adam Collier told Reuters at Falluja hospital, where the convoy waited to cross the Euphrates river into the main part of the Iraqi city. Collier cited security reasons.

Sporadic explosions and machinegun fire could be heard from the city, though fighting was less intense than earlier, said a Reuters reporter at the hospital on Falluja's western edge.

4. Falluja relief convoy appeals to UN
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 09:38 AM by cal04

An Iraqi Red Crescent convoy with emergency supplies for residents of Falluja, after being disallowed to enter the town by US forces despite repeated pleas, has appealed to the UN.US troops have directed the convoy into the Falluja hospital on the outskirts of the town, away from the reach of local citizens.

Abu Fahd, a member of the relief convoy, told Aljazeera that "the relief convoy wants to enter Falluja town for humanitarian purposes only, to save women, children and elderly people".

"I hope the United Nations will hear our appeals," he said

6. All this misery
to satisfy the blood lust of *. He smirks, and says he's bringing democracy to the people of Iraq. What gets me, is that he's very busy dismantling democracy in this country, and replacing it with a dictatorship, with himself as dictator.

I mourn for the innocent people in Iraq, and wonder how so many of my fellow citizens can be so blind as to vote for this arrogant POS. I hope relief comes soon for the people of Falluja. As the Bush* War rages on, how many new terrorists will make their battle cry "Remember Falluja!"?

7. Where the fuck is the rest of the world?
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 10:36 AM by DoYouEverWonder
Where is the UN. Where is Kofi Annan?

Where are the American People?

Where are the supposed 'good' christians who voted for this?

This child didn't do anything to anybody.

These people are not terrorists.

Who would have thought that Bush would be worse than Saddam? Much, much worse.

10. Why was the Fallujah hospital a main military objective to begin with?
To prevent the medical staff from speaking to the press?

12. Yes
and now the US military and Allawi are saying there were no civilians in Fallujah and that therefore none were killed and there is no one to contradict them in the hospital.

15. It is, indeed...
There was no justification for the US invading Iraq, there was no justification for the US assault on Fallujah, and there is no justification for the brutal and criminal tactics being used in the battle.

16. I can't believe that all 50,000 civilians still there are insurgents!
The USA itself said there were only 2,000-3,000 insurgents in there.

Our propaganda people are starting to trip over their own lies.

17. I'll bet
there were plenty of old and infirm with nowhere to flee to. Lot's of widowed women with children. Not to mention the people in the hospital.
