Former Florida Education Commissioner Betty Castor (D) recently jumped into the open 2004 US Senate race. In recent days, she launched her new campaign website at bettycastorforsenate.com. The front page of the site touts a prominent section entitled "Meet Betty's Supporters" -- featuring Castor endorsements from five regular folks (identified by name and titles like "small business owner," "translator," "analyst" and "retired"). Of the five people featured in the rotating photo endorsements, all five work for Castor's polling firm --- As for the "retired" woman, it seems they must have been referring to her retiring demeanor -- because she's listed as EVP of the polling company. Lesson: try to find a few real campaign supporters by the time you announce that your site is going live.
