a major scandal. Is there any hope the many brewing scandals in the Bushco organized crime syndicate will come to fruition?

and an asskicker to boot. Yeah Lupe!!!

BTW we also NARROWED the gap between Shrubya and Kerry to a point or 2. Much narrower than the gap between Shrubya and Gore.

And we elected three Democratic judges.

For us, this is like a revolution. I'm taking all the happy I can get.

9. Here are the Dallas County results
I must say I feel much better after seeing how close the race was here.

http://69.13.97.204/nov22004/Update_8.HTM

But I don't understand the difference between the straight party ticket results and the voting for individual candidates--why did the first result in a lead for Kerry and the second didn't?

10. Looks good!
Seems to me that if you guys can increase early voting turnout you have a good shot at flipping this county. Straight ticket voting looked good. You were just getting kicked a little on those repub early voters. In Travis we've been pushing early voting like crazy the past few cycles and now we have excellent turnout for e-day and for early, so we can get more of our people to vote (with good analysis) and win both.

18. I think you're right and I'm feeling much more hopeful
These numbers certainly look better than the 61/38 % for the whole state.

11. You have to add the two together
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 11:23 PM by crispini
to get the real results, they are broken out. Also that webpage doesn't include the early voting results, that's on a different page.

Re: straight ticket. It's actually kind of a good thing, it shows that of the straight party voters, MORE of them were Democrats. We want to encourage straight party vote here to get all of our candidates in.

Edited to add: It just blew me away, how many people IN MY PRECINCT voted for Shrubya and EDDIE BERNICE JOHNSON. WTF is up with that, she's incredibly liberal? They even had a Libertarian to throw a protest vote to. Weird weird weird weird weird.

17. EV
Sure it shows early voting on that page... that's the "EV In-Person" column. Yes, you did get more democratic straight ticket voting... that's why I said straight ticket voting looked good.

19. I haven't checked how the voting went down in my precinct
But it wouldn't surprise me if something similar happened (although I have a feeling Kerry made a strong showing here). It is weird, because I certainly voted for Libertarians, like Quanah Parker, rather than Repubs, when I had no other choice.

14. Dallas is liberal.
I love Dallas, most of the people are fun loving liberals, and the ones that do vote republican usually vote by pocketbook, not on bullshit "morality" issues. I predict Dallas will be solidly democratic within the next 10 years.

20. I hope and pray you're right!
Unfortunately, in my daily life I have to interact with a lot of the rich, arrogant conservatives or their demon spawn, and that can be depressing, sometimes.

it is all in the perspective.

22. Hahahahaha!
And it's not like we didn't know she was gay. It was in the Dallas Republican Snooze about three times.

Freak away, Freepers. Check out her resume, she's amazingly qualified, articulate, hardworking, and perfect for the post. Plus the other guy was part of the corrupt old guard inbred in-boy club and they kept just fucking things up. She will do good things for Dallas County.

27. You would have been so much better served by saying "1st Woman.
then 1st Hispanic and lastly 1st gay, Her being gay came out at the very end of the campaign. Lupe was allowed to win, it legitmizes our voting machines, can't you see. Very few others did win in the state of Texas and it was all at the same margins of loss.

Sonething is wrong in "Denmark".
