Bush wins boost from terror tape

·George W Bush moved yesterday to seize the political advantage after Osama bin Laden's extraordinary intervention in the US presidential election on Friday night.
The campaign descended into a final bout of acrimony yesterday as both sides attacked each other for making political capital out of the al-Qaeda leader's video address. But it appeared to be the incumbent who will gain any political advantage.

3. according to the Faux News Poll...Kerry is up
and the Faux News were chocking when they had to show the numbers.

Bottom line is it's too close to call and we won't know after Tues. How long after is the question.

4. I've said since the tapes first airing...

...that the WH position is likely that ANY reminder to "be afraid" is a positive for Bush. Further that reminding people of the way they felt after 9-11, when Bush's approval rating was in the 70 percent range, not just reminding them of the event, is brilliant propaganda, even if only opportunistic in this case.

6. "Reward Failure! Vote Bush!" is that what we're supposed to believe
people think? If so, then I'll kill myself. (I also wish that were a bumper sticker...I mean, it's such an obvious way to slam Bush in a few words....)

7. I love this Brit!!! I hope in the Next Election he kicks Blair out!!!
"Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy condemned bin Laden's 'cynical' manipulation, but said his intervention highlighted the fatal error of failing to finish the war on Afghanistan before launching military action in Iraq."

He is right ON!!!

12. Locking - reason below
I hardly ever lock something for being more than 12 hours old, but since this is old news ( the Newsweek poll) I think I will.

I did a google news search, and it says the Guardian article was published 21 hours ago. :-)
