A dead heat in Florida
Florida may be headed for a repeat of 2000, with President George W. Bush and John Kerry locked in an extremely competitive race for the presidency in a state that could hold the key to the national election, a new Florida Poll shows.

The two candidates are in a virtual tie in the contest for the state's 27 electoral votes, according to the poll conducted by The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group.

Kerry has 48.3 percent of the vote to Bush's 46.7 percent, while Ralph Nader claimed 1.5 percent of the Florida vote. Heading into the last weekend of the campaign, less than 4 percent of the voters are undecided.

The poll, which surveyed 802 likely voters from Oct. 23 to Oct. 27, had a 3 percent margin of error. Most voters have made up their minds about the two men. "I don't think Bush has done a good job," said William E. Bradford, 66, a Democrat and a Manatee County school board employee who participated in the survey. Jack A. Bailey, a 53-year-old Republican and Lakeland nursery owner, said he has problems with Kerry, including his service in Vietnam.

12. Very good indeed.
Early voters in the republican dominated southwest area of Florida are heavy Kerry supporters, waiting in very long lines to make sure their vote counts this time around, in valiant attempts to bring democracy back to Florida.

3. With or without Florida, Jebby can't save his brother this time.
It would be nothing short of awesome if Kerry picks it up, though.

Uh...all right...I don't get it.

"This French-looking, foreign-language-speaking, liberal pinko actually had the gall to volunteer for combat duty in Vietnam. I don't like it. Makes Bush look bad."

11. Um, wha? Part 2
Beverly Sheffield, 64, a Democrat who lives near Lakeland and works at Wal-Mart, said she is impressed by the president's promotion of religious and moral values.

"He is a Christian. He professes his Christianity," she said.

Idiot people deserve idiot presidents. What are the rest of us going to do?

It is unthinkable that a man solely responsible for 100,000+ deaths worldwide can be viewed as moral.

14. Actually, she's half right.
He's very vocal in professing to be a Christian. Doesn't mean he is one, though. And to this sort of person, "moral values" means "paying lip service to fundamentalist ideals and cracking down on those nasty immoral homosexuals". These people are not only stupid, they are deeply warped at a fundamental level.

13. All I can say is bullshit
Bush isn't getting any of the black vote this time. He's losing most of the Cuban vote. The Jews who 'voted' for Buchanan certainly haven't turned Republican in 4 years. The only vote Bush is getting down here are the wacko fundies and the greedy, self-centered, he cut my taxes vote.

FLORIDA IS KERRY COUNTRY.

More reason to believe we will win.

is that 1,8 people voted early - which is 2.5 more than the 2000 vote.

So, they may try to steal again, but people won't buy it this time.
All them people staying hours in line to vote this week won't buy it. Neither will I. Hopefully, Florida will be irrelevant this time around - but it would be sweet if they fail to steal it!
