Governor of Texas Snubs the U.N.
HOUSTON — An international incident of sorts has broken out in Texas, after Gov. Rick Perry rejected President Bush's request that the nation's governors sign a proclamation honoring the United Nations.

Perry believes the U.N. has not shown enough support for the United States' "efforts to bring freedom and democracy to the world," Kathy Walt, the Republican governor's press secretary, said Friday.

Asked if she could offer specifics, Walt said: "I'm not going to. That is the extent of our statement."

The platform of the Texas Republican Party calls for the United States to rescind its membership in the United Nations and evict the organization from New York.

it was written as if Texas was a country of it's own.

Practically the same thing has happened in Florida in reference to Republicans having a stanglehold on the state government.

The Bush boys must have spent many fun hours talking and planning their state coups.

11. Goodhair ...
is such a putz! Only nice thing I can say about him is that he's better than Shrub. At least he can speak in complete sentences.

A pox on both their houses! :puke:

7. The thing that gives me the heebie-jeebies...
is the "conventional wisdom" is that Kay Bailey Hutchison is going to take a run at the governor's office to burnish up her presidential credentials and the Gov. Goodhair will be opting to run for her seat in the US Senate.

Oh God, just the thought of these two pieces of shit makes me feel like I swam in the middens.:puke:

Intelligence used to be prized by the electorate as was a strict separation of church and state, but it's like it never existed. How can they imagine us going it alone? Can we boycott the entire world? Disregard the rest of the human race in the face of global concerns such as global warming and pandemics? Spit on the Geneva Convention, which at fifty-five years is our most venerable international agreement to limit the excesses and abuses of war? Isn't it brutal enough?
The UN is not perfect but at least we have it. They've taken a beating lately but, believe me, the vast majority of the people who work at, with, and for the UN are dedicated to global good;I do believe that John Kerry and Teresa Heinz met at the UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro.
