Woman shocked by claim on Web site that she was slain in Iraq
Associated Press

Erik Holladay / The Flint Journal

BURTON -- A woman was shocked to learn Friday that a photo of what appeared to be her old driver’s license showed up on an Islamic Web site along with a claim that she had been captured in southern Iraq and slain.

Dawn Perryman, 43, who lives in this community near Flint, found out about the Internet posting after a reporter from The Associated Press called and talked to her husband about the claim.

“It’s kind of scary,” Perryman, who isn’t in the military, said in a telephone interview from her home.

The posting claimed that an American officer named Dawn Marie Stone, which is Perryman’s maiden name, was captured about three weeks ago. The claim was accompanied by a photo of the driver’s license, which had her maiden name, her birth date and an address in Flint that she previously lived at.

Iraqi Resistance Fighters have managed to capture a total of 17 US Marines in two seperate attacks yesterday (Thursday 28th October).

The first group consisting of 3 Marines was captured at 4pm as a result of an attack on a convoy at Al-Kahldiya 80km to the south of Baghdad which left one humvee seperatred from the convoy and which the Iraqi Resistance Fighters managed to suround.

The second group consisiting of 14 Marines was captured at Al-Nassaf area near Ramadi (no details on how the group was captured is provided).

US forces in Ramadi have launched massive attacks in search for the group which has caused the Resistance to counter with defensive attacks on the main road leading to Ramadi.

Inside sources have indicated that the prisoners will be traded for Resistance Fighters currently held at Abu Ghriab and Umm Qasr. Similar exchanges have taken place previously where 300 Resistance fighters were released through prisoner exchange.

Iraqi Resistance sources have claimed that if there is no exchange of prisoners forthcomming, then the US Marines will be executed.

For the purpose of authenticity, a picture of a US female prisoner "Dawn Marie Stone" has been published by the Resistance. Dawn has been executed after being held prisoner by the Resistance for 3-weeks from an attack at Al-Basra area on a joint US/British force.

No execution photos will be released by the Resistance due to concern over the saftey of Iraqi civilians whom the US would bomb in revenge attacks.
