The company is losing a contract to make injection-molded car interiors for the Ford Expedition and Navigator, Andrea Puchalsky, a spokeswoman for the Southfield-based auto supplier, told the Battle Creek Enquirer for a Friday story.
Puchalsky said about 200 people, including hourly and salaried employees, are expected to be indefinitely laid off, although the exact dates the layoffs will happen are unclear.
Lear is one of Marshall's largest employers. Last summer, the company laid off about 120 people from its work force of more than 600. At the end of September, Lear employed 297 hourly and 63 salaried workers in Marshall, Puchalsky said.
