Ugandans awed by carnage after 'rebel ambush'
Ugandan rebels ambushed a bus in the east of the country, killed 25 passengers and abducted around 60 others in the most dramatic attack in the region since they began operating in June, the army said on Tuesday.

The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels killed some of the passengers with short-range shots through the eye, ears and forehead, state-owned New Vision newspaper quoted witnesses as saying.

The LRA attacked the bus on Monday morning near the town of Lira, 220km north of the capital, Kampala.
