FDLE finds no foul play in Broward County absentee ballots !!!!!
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/28/politics/campaign/28f...

maybe this is isn't breaking news, but WTF ????

<snip>

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Wednesday that it found no foul play after investigating widespread complaints of missing absentee ballots in Broward County. But questions remained about where the ballots, thousands potentially, had gone and whether the intended recipients would be able to vote.

1. Well, that was quick....

On edit, I wonder if USPS postal inspectors have been called in. Since it involves the postal service, they should have been. I doubt seriously that the PI people would take as little time on the case as has been by the Florida state police.

8. The Election's Not Over Until Your Brother Counts the Votes
Some type of alien void swallowed up 58,000 absentee ballots. But there's no evidence of foul play.

<snip>

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Wednesday that up to 60,000 absentee ballots had been sent to, but not yet received by, voters in Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale. County elections officials did not return phone calls from The New York Times, but Gisela Salas, the deputy elections supervisor, told The Sun-Sentinel that many of the missing ballots were sent on Oct. 7 and 8. Ms. Salas said she had no explanation for their disappearance.

The United States Postal Service issued a statement on Wednesday saying it was handling absentee ballots "as expeditiously as possible," and had "identified no delays in our handling of balloting materials or actual ballots."

19. If they can't find them, how can they be sure?
Because it's Florida and there is no accountability.

I know it's wrong to imagine little old ladies in walkers stringing Jeb to a lamppole. But I actually do.

Who'da ever thunk such a result!

The state where the CAMPAIGN CHAIRMAN OF ONE OF THE CANDIDATES, AND WHOSE GOVERNOR WAS THE BROTHER OF THE SAME CANDIDATE was IN CHARGE OF THE ELECTIONS OFFICE, and CONSISTANTLY RULED IN FAVOR OF HER CANDIDATE NOT MATTER HOW OBVIOUS THE BIAS, found there were NO IRREGULARITIES!

I feel reassured,don't you all?!
