Elko begins foreclosure action against veteran Nevada (GOP) lawmaker
http://www.krnv.com/Global/story.asp?S=2483488&nav=8faOSQSo

The Elko City Council has voted to foreclose on two properties owned by veteran Nevada Assemblyman John Carpenter in an effort to collect more than $40,000 in unpaid sewer and water fees.

During a special session Monday night, the council voted unanimously to proceed with legal action.

Carpenter owns five family businesses in Elko, including a restaurant, beauty salon, car wash and mobile home park.

At issue is Carpenter's claim that he's paying too much in fees for recreational vehicles that occupy trailer spaces.

went to see which party this guy was affiliated with - here's the scoop:

2. there's more to story than that
he's paying the same amount of sewer fees for each RV slab as homes do. Obviously unfair. He will definitely be going to court and the city will lose most likely (imo)

He's a republican but imo he's in the right. There are no water meters in Elko.. probably only city in the state and many trailer parks etc subsidize the sewer costs.
