Ex-Vatican ambassador slams Schwarzenegger's stem cell stance
Let's see if they try to excommunicate Arnold.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Anti-abortion activist Raymond Flynn, a former ambassador to the Vatican, called on Arnold Schwarzenegger Wednesday to "reconsider why you are a Catholic" after the California governor voiced support for a $3 billion bond measure to fund human embryonic stem cell research.

Flynn, a Democrat and president of the lay Roman Catholic organization Liberty, Life & Family in Washington, questioned the governor's Catholic faith because of his endorsement of Proposition 71.

"I seriously question whether you understand the teachings of our Catholic faith on the importance of promoting a culture of life in our country," Flynn wrote in a letter he said he sent to Schwarzenegger on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Schwarzenegger, a Republican, declined comment.

7. Maybe the "no sex"
was part of the rhythm method. If he's a "real" Catholic, that is.

10. On the bright side...
If Bush "wins" again, we won't have to worry about *our* scientists being the ones who develop a cure that prolongs the life of the shaky old cross-dressing Pole who lives in Vatican City.

13. So how's that any worse than a bitter old-timer...
...spouting anti-christian crap?

He's right in a way. Another round of Bush and we'll living like that SNL "Theodoric of York" skit.

What a rush, from the biggest producer of Nobel Prize winners to a superstitous backwoods Theocracy in less than a decade. Fasten your seat belts, it's gonna be a rough ride.

Wonder how they're gonna justify leaving Teee-Veee and AM Hate Radio in place? Neither of THOSE are mentioned in the bible, either....

15. An apology of sorts from an offensive newbie...

:ouch:

It wasn't meant to be anti-Catholic, but rather anti Karol Wojtila -- although I suppose real Catholics would consider that in and of itself to be anti-Catholic. FWIW, I'm *married* to a Catholic!

In my own secular way of thinking, I consider my disdain for his holiness to be tantamount to my dislike for Bush: it doesn't mean I dislike all Republicans. Isn't he kinda the Pontifex Maximus of the Republican See?
