"Protect our civil liberties" Message considered "Obscene"
At a rally in Oregon, three local teachers wore T shirts with the message "Protect our Civil Liberties". They had obtained tickets, and had made it thru the two checkpoints, and onto the fairgrounds, when event officials told them to leave, as the message on their shirts was "obscene". The tickets were taken from them, and they were threatened with arrest.

So far the only report I have found is from a Portland TV station. They require registration, but you don't have to supply a valid email.

4. They hate us for our freedoms...
...and expression of concern for liberties, letting the government not only allow us to "keep more of our money", but letting us decide HOW to spend that money (rather than choosing to pump that extra change into an SUV, I might choose to donate it the the Kerry campaign), is obscene to them.

I really think it would be wise to point this out. The GOP claims that they want us to be able to "keep more of our money", but they want to regulate the ways in which we use that money. If we choose to use that money to buy a t-shirt that says "Protect our civil liberties" is obscene to those that hate us for our freedoms.

6. That's just horrible.
What is going on in our country? I'm broken hearted as I watch our great country being destroyed one day at a time.

On that sad note, welcome to DU. Hopefully we'll all see a brighter day ahead.
