I hate the president as much as you do, but please, don't attack the president's dog! I remember how upset I was when someone wrote a nasty article about Buddy Clinton after he got run over...leave the dog out of it. It is not this dog's fault he has such an idiot for an owner.

Lots of people didn't like that. (Of course, that was intentional. Here, Bush just looks like a dope.)

83. I love dogs!!!.....This was inexcusable!!!...He has no regard for animals!
I have always been suspicious of his handling of dogs from the start.
He holds them as if he is carrying the garbage out to the trash can.

He has no heart for animals.

I remember when Presidente fox of Mexico showed his horses to
W and the pictures of him handling them were so bizarre!

I have a serious problem with people's inability to relate to animals.
I view it as bad as Severe Psychological problems.

This man has a huge reservior of them.

46. Has Bush ever heard of a leash?
Instead of carrying your dog or having the Secret Service catch your dog if he sensibly runs away, you can actually attach a leash to your dog's collar. This way you will be able to control your dog and he will get some exercise.

34. Now I could see the dog not responding while at home...
but when in public I would think the dog would not want to venture too far from it's master. But of course whistle ass being a master would be disputable.

My dog will only leave my side if there isn't anyone nearby. When there are people she will make every attempt to be as close as possible to me if not on my lap or being held.

My dog also recognizes my voice and my physical being. She will immediately seek me out in situation that she feels threaten.

21. For those not acquainted with the "Nuclear Football"
Edited on Sat Aug-30-03 04:29 PM by NNN0LHI
http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/systems/nuclear-football.htm

The Football

It follows the President where ever he goes and is never more that a few steps from his side. It is carried by a military officer who must undergo the nation's most rigorous security background check - the "Yankee White". It contains a secure SATCOM radio and handset, the nuclear launch codes known as the "Gold Codes" and the President's Decision Book - the nuclear playbook that the President would rely on if he would ever have to decide to use nuclear weapons. Its real name is unknown but it is popularly known as "the football".

The concept of the football came about in the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis. President Kennedy was concerned that some Soviet commander in Cuba might launch their missiles without authorization from Moscow. After the crisis, Kennedy ordered a review of the U.S. Nuclear Command and Control system. The result was the highly classified National Secuirty Action Memorandum that created the football.

The White House Communications Agency which oversees the military unit in charge of the Football, was created with personnel from sections of the Defense Communcations Agency, composed of units fo the Defense Communications Operations Unit (responsible for communications and emergency power engineering) and the Defense Communications Support Unit. To work in these units, a candidate must pas a special seucirty investigation, called "Yankee White." The criteria include U.S. citizenship, unqeustionable loyalty , and an absloute absense of any foreign influence over the individual, his family, or "persons to whom the individual is closely linked." The aide who carries the Football come from the four military branches and are ranked Lt.Colonel, naval Comander, or Marine Major. They must be knowledgeable about all aspects fo the overall SIOP, as well as the various options available to the President for implimenting the war plan.

Yup, and seems Laura has had a bit too much "sun" as well.

Here's the story:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2003/08/30/national1545EDT0577.DTL

<snip>
Before boarding Air Force One in Waco, Texas, for his trip back to Washington, the president and first lady Laura Bush greeted members of the Midway All-Stars, a Waco-area Little League girls softball team that recently won the world championship.

The girls were introduced to the president's dog, Barney, who accidentally fell onto the tarmac when Mrs. Bush was handing him to her husband. The dog apparently was unharmed, but his fall startled the girls and the president, who quickly scooped Barney back into his arms.

Because he doesn't always walk when you want him to. I'm not a pet owner, but I see that as a sign that he's not getting enough training and attention. And you can tell how uncomfortable Barney looks when Bush IS holding him.

Barney is a good 3 feet from his master Whistle Ass, AND he's facing him. How do you "drop" a dog and have it land a yard away and backwards? Either * threw him, or Barney kicked off, hard, flying 3 feet while doing a 180. Without video we'll never know, but one thing is for certain, Barney was wise to get the hell out of this man's grasp.

38. How do we know Barney wasn't injured?
Just because Bush & Co. said so?

Poor dog. He wound up at quite a distance from the so-called "drop". Must have been catapulted. I have always felt sorry for that dog. I hope he survives so that at the end of King George's reign, when he is no longer needed as a stage prop, he can find a good home.

to lick his own blood from internal hemorhaging.
Falling on your side or back on concrete from
that height means injury. I have long backed dogs-
dachshunds-and they are prone to injury. Scotties
are tough but not THAT tough. Poor little dog. He's
lost the dog vote in this country, the fascist idiot.

These dogs are wigglers but you have to know that
by now and carry a leash. Sheesh!

Any mother that hands over her baby for a Dubya campaign stop photo-op should be considered negligent. Let this be a warning, Repuke mommies: Don't let Dubya touch your babies!

Look at the way his arms are out it looks like he tossed Barney and Barney is on his side not his back or belly. If you drop a dog wouldn't he land on his belly in front of you?

95. US Whore Media: It's Barney's Fault
This is the story being carried in papers across America:

The girls were introduced to the president's dog, Barney, who accidentally fell onto the tarmac when Mrs. Bush was handing him to her husband. The dog apparently was unharmed, but his fall startled the girls and the president, who quickly scooped Barney back into his arms.

Laura wasn't handing Shrubby the dog and he didn't drop the dog. Barney was implementing his escape plan. You can see him taking a leap and then trying to run away. Poor dog.
