Security Scholars Say Iraq War Most Misguided Policy Since Vietnam
WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct 12 (OneWorld) – The U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq (news - web sites) has been the “most misguided” policy since the Vietnam War, according to an open letter signed by some 500 U.S. national-security specialists.

The letter, released Tuesday by a Security Scholars for a Sensible Foreign Policy (S3FP), said that the current situation in Iraq could have been much better had the Bush administration heeded the advice of some of its most experienced career military and foreign service officers.

But the administration’s failure to do so has actually fueled “the violent opposition to the U.S. military presence,” as well as the intervention of terrorists from outside Iraq.

“The results of this policy have been overwhelmingly negative for U.S. interests,” according to the group which called for a “fundamental reassessment” in both the U.S. strategy in Iraq and its implementation.

2. yahoo's been pissing me off all day. Check this out
they've pissed me off all day with this bullshit story:

<<Bush: Kerry's Plans Would Require Tax Hike >>

You call that a STORY? Fuck yoo, yahoo.

You can write them here and complain:

http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/news/cgi_feedback

Here's what I wrote:

You guys need to get your act together. You have had, as your top story all day, some BS that Bush has trash-talked about Kerry, like that's some kind of news story.

Hello?

Meanwhile, this story, which should be a HUGE news story, can only be found in your highest-rated section:

Security Scholars Say Iraq War Most Misguided Policy Since Vietnam

Whose url is:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/oneworld/4536958861097601506

You guys are acting like you're Sinclair Broadcasting or something.

Quit being partisan and report the goddamn truth. The country depends on a free press, not a propaganda-spouting rubber-stamping "let's repeat what Bush tells us to repeat" press.

Thank you.

8. Accepting that the Iraqi war is misguided and that the Vietnam war was
even more misguided, just what the Fuck was wrong with Kerry and Jane F. and others telling people about the fact that both wars were stupid? These people that want to convince others that both wars were somehow worthy of our support are delusional. Support the poor troops, They have to follow orders, but not the stupid war.

10. Wow even more misguided than Iran/contra?
That's saying something. Although, after Bush the Smarter pardoned everyone in the dead of night on Christmas Eve 1992 (after he'd been voted out of office), it pretty effectively decapitated Lawrence Walsh's investigation and ended any further scrutiny of that bit of foreign adventurism.

12. OK: let's assess the responsibility here.
I'm going to name 2 people here, and that's about it.

1) Donald rumsFailed

2) Dick Cheney

No one else. All the generals were showed to the door. All the analysts were ignored. The American public was ignored. The world was ignored.

And now -- who gets the blame for this catastrophe? The two clowns above. Notice I'm not even including BushBaby because he doesn't have the mental capacity.
