Debate marks historic Senate race
BBC News
By Catherine Miller
BBC, Chicago

When the people of Illinois tune in to Tuesday's first debate between their two Senate candidates, they will hear history in the making.

For the first time ever, both major parties have fielded black candidates - Barack Obama for the Democrats and Alan Keyes for the Republicans.

The two men are vying to replace retiring Republican Senator Peter Fitzgerald in this Midwestern state.

One or the other is set to become only the fifth African-American senator in US history.

1. CSPAN?
Anyone know if this is going to be covered? I'd love to watch Obama wipe the floor with that idiot Keyes.

4. Apparently Keyes isn't satisfied with losing by only 40 points. He wants
to increase the margin. I guess he really doesn't want to move after all.

7. This Is Obama's Strategy
I yield all of my time to Mr. Keyes. Yep. Just let that maniac talk for an hour uninterrupted. He's his own negative ad.

8. LMAO AT KEYES QUOTE!
"I think it's perfectly clear if you ask people are you going to vote against God or for the Democratic party they will stand with God," he says.

Nice job, Alan, shooting yourself in the foot.

Do you want to vote against God, or do you want to vote Democratic? Your choice.

No wonder he's losing by 45 pts.

9. Anyone listening to this or know what station it's on?

Or is it over?

I'm kind of curious about how it's turning (or already turned) out, but I have to admit to not having much interest in it because it's basically a free campaign commercial for Keyes. I could care less what he has to say ~ I didn't feel like wasting time this evening listening to his tripe.
