Edwards mocks Bush for not naming mistakes
Edwards mocks Bush for not naming mistakes

MATT SEDENSKY

Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards mocked President Bush's answer to a debate question, saying Monday the incumbent fails to recognize his mistakes.

In an appearance before several thousand cheering people here, Edwards, a North Carolina senator, noted the president's vague answer to the last audience question at Friday's debate in St. Louis - on what specific mistakes Bush believes he made.

Edwards said he "listened very careful" but did not hear an answer from the president. "Come November," he said, "we're going to give him plenty of time to think about the mistakes he made."

Bush answered the question Friday, in part, by saying "I made some mistakes in appointing people, but I'm not going to name them."

1. I know.
I cheered in front of the TV when this question was asked. I knew for sure Bush wouldn't be able to answer a question about his errors - he can't admit those after all. The last question, and so very grueling for the chimp.

And then he said "I've made some mistakes. I admit that. But I'm not saying what. And here's what I did right..."

Yeah, whatever. I'm glad Kerry made use of it, it'd be a wasted opportunity.

I wish I had the chance to watch the debate. People said it was delicious. Some other people I know say that Bush was wired? If he was I'm sure he'd have been able to make up a better answer.

4. You still have your chance.
Go to http://www.c-span.org/

Under "Recent Programs," you'll see "Senate Hearing on New Report on Iraqi WMD (10/06/2004)." Click that, and you can watch it through RealMeadia, or WindowsMedia.

It'll probably be available in their archives for days to come.

5. Hardly proof he wasn't wired
First, even if people are feeding him info, he has to form the info into statements. Second, Bush cannot criticize himself-- there is some type of psychological block, probably from being abused by his parents. Remember the famous "fool me once" misquote. The line he could not say was "Shame on me." He can't say it even in quotes.

Third, Bush's people are as out of touch as he is. They have to defend a failed, lying, drunken halfwit and try to make people like him. They run constant focus groups testing to come up with buzz phrases for W to use, but if they have to think up an answer on the spot, without the focus group, as to why people should like W, they can't do it. THEY don't like him, they are just so caught up in the game they haven't admitted it to themselves, yet.

6. At last!
I was wondering WHEN someone will point it out on TV or whatever about that.

Edwards, you rock!
