Baghdad, Iraq -- One Task Force Baghdad Soldier died of wounds received when a vehicle-borne explosive device detonated in eastern Baghdad on Oct. 10 about 7:15 a.m.

The blast targeted a Multi-National Force convoy. The Soldier was medically evacuated, but died at a nearby military medical hospital.

The name of the Soldier killed is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. The incident remains under investigation.
