Samarrans angered over broken promises

(Azzaman) – Residents of Samarra have asked some ministers in the transitional government to resign for deluding tribal leaders and notables of the city by giving them false promises not to attack the city. Meanwhile, people have gathered in front of Samarra hospital to receive the corpses of their relatives killed in the last military operation on the city. According to an American source, 150 people were killed, ten percent of them innocent civilians. A source in the hospital said the corpses were wrapped in blankets and plastic bags due to the shortage of special body bags. American forces transferred the wounded to Tikrit hospital due to the incapacity of Samarra hospital and the blackout of electricity.
