Former Enron treasurer may cut deal Plea bargain could create a 'bloodbath
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/front/2071922

Indicted ex-Enron Treasurer Ben Glisan Jr. is negotiating a plea bargain and cooperation agreement with federal prosecutors.

Glisan, one of the highest ranking Enron officials before he was fired for his involvement in a side-deal, is charged with two dozen counts of money laundering, fraud and conspiracy. His charges are part of a 109-count indictment against Glisan, former Enron Chief Financial Officer Andrew Fastow and former Enron executive Dan Boyle.

"When Glisan flips, this could be a bloodbath," said one lawyer familiar with the Enron investigation. Glisan was installed as Enron treasurer in 2000 and was known as a protege of both Fastow and ex-CEO Jeff Skilling.

--snip--

There is still no indication that the Enron Task Force is prepared to either accuse or clear former CEO Skilling or ex-Chairman Ken Lay, however.

2. I hope Ken Lay agrees to tell everything he knows about Cheney's energy
committee. Cheney's energy committee would have discussed various scenarios under which the US might intervene militarily in the Middle East. Lay would have been part of that group and for that reason, I don't believe Lay will ever serve a day in jail although he might pay a token fine.

21. It's safe to assume that the reason
Lay has avoided prosecution and indictment so far is because he has protection from on high. That will continue no doubt.

5. I just hope that a Dem. . .
turns Ken Lay into the Willie Horton of the 2004 election. I know that sounds like I've gone over to the dark side when it comes to smears. But if Lay is still walking around (and some good pictures of him on a yacht would help) I think we need to use it.

9. Ken Lay, poster boy for fraud, Bush, Cheney...
etc.

I agree, let's make him the poster boy for corporate fraud, high crimes and misdemeanors. Beat that drum.

All the people that lost life savings and jobs to these crooks, probably a significant number of votes out there.

16. let's hope the bath isn't in his own; Baxteritis is contagious...
Then again, that's the kind of thing that just might make someone sing...

Something tells me that if he does live to testify, it may hurt Andy Fasty, but it'll still fall short of Killing and Fuck.

25. Yes the same Feds that allowed all that shredding to go on BEFORE
stepping in to oversee it (which only means they watched while the shredding continued). And what about recovery of "erased" material off those computers? It can be done....but was it?

There is, indeed, much that is and will remain hidden lest it lead beyond even Kennyboy, and the Bush Crime Family. It goes further...

20. As long as AssKroft is in charge I have no hope that KennyBoy will
ever be held accountable. Only when we take back at least one of the Houses will he ever be scrutinized and prosecuted.
