Poll puts Bush, Kerry about even. Results Indicate gain for Senator....
(CNN) -- President Bush and his Democratic challenger, Sen. John Kerry, are about even among likely and registered voters in the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, released Sunday.

The poll showed Kerry and Bush tied at 49 percent each among likely voters interviewed. Among registered voters Bush had 49 percent and Kerry 47 percent. Independent candidate Ralph Nader was favored by 1 percent in each group.

The margin of error in each case was plus or minus 4 percentage points.

By contrast, Bush was ahead of Kerry among likely voters 52 percent to 44 percent in the Gallup poll conducted September 24-26. Among registered voters in that poll, the spread was 53 percent for Bush and 42 percent for Kerry. Nader had 3 percent among each group.

More.

(CPOD) Oct. 3, 2004 – The 2004 United States presidential race remains closely contested, according to a poll by YouGov published in The Economist. 46 per cent of respondents would vote for Republican incumbent George W. Bush, while 46 per cent would support Democratic nominee John Kerry.

Independent candidate Ralph Nader garners the support of two per cent of respondents. Backing for Kerry remained stable since early September, while support for Bush increased by one per cent. <snip>

8. Jeez, look at this quote:
"It's obvious that the debate helped Kerry. What's less obvious is how," CNN polling director Keating Holland said.

:wtf: It's pretty damn obvious to me!

10. Lets see if poll coverage changes...
With CNN reporting an eleven point lead for Bush in the Gallup poll, we saw the poll results before and after every commercial break (repleat with giggling and giddiness). Very slight mention of any other polls.

Let's see how often they mention the latest Gallup results, and whether they just happen to find another poll showing Bush ahead.

12. Chimpys giant lead in the polls was the political news for over a month.
Issues took a back burner. Now the media will return to Goreing Kerry with petty bullshit.

14. I think their registered voters
sample is off. I think in that category Kerry has a lead, simply because of massive voter registration efforts on the part of left leaning groups.

15. "likely voters"
Remember, likely voters are folks who have voted in the past. There are tens of thousands (maybe more) who have registered to vote this year alone. They are not counted.

They ain't gettin' otivated to get registered cause they're happy with the way things are.
