SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea said Friday that prospects for another round of nuclear talks were in jeopardy because of inflexibility on the part of U.S. negotiators, a South Korean news agency reported.
``As the United States refuses to express intentions to switch over its hostile policy against North Korea, prospects for the next round of talks have fallen into danger,'' said KCNA, the North's news agency. KCNA was quoted by Yonhap, a South Korean agency.
``The United States said that the next round of talks can continue if we express our willingness to give up our nuclear plans at this time,'' KCNA said.
``That means they plan to act after we dismantle,'' the agency said in a possible reference to the possibility of U.S. military action against North Korea.
``This kind of demand is beyond common sense. We cannot but point out the real intentions of the United States,'' the agency said.

1. What Moore can One say about N. Korea
Madeline Halfpint took care of everything.

I hear she has endorsed Gary Coleman for California governor.

2. Einstein welcome to the DU
This is consistant with most ideas of the current administration. The U.S. earlier this year moved long range bombers to Guam in a show of force to N.Korea. Bush was touting this as diplomacy when N.Korea, China and S.Korea started talking. Notice the U.S. was not involved in the talks. What happened is China was the adult in this situation and they talked to N.Korea and S. Korea. Since then, they had opened the border on a limited basis for buses of tourist to go across between north and south. Bush gets involved again and the talking stops and the tension goes up. He needs to quit playing this game of chikcen or brinkmanship with the world. He did it with the U.N. and his "either with us or against us" attitude. This led to freedom fries. Somehow the renaming of a potato product is very symbolic of this current administrations actions.

3. For some reason, the link isn't working....
The tone and the rhetoric are fairly normal N Korean style. This makes it hard to know how angry they really are. But I know I would be hard-pressed not to scream. Personally, I think the N Koreans have a good case for thinking the US has no intention of negotiating fairly. (I cringe every time I think of what "my" country is doing--across the globe.)

Trying to catch some news about the talks on tv, I was amazed that most shows didn't even mention it. Those that did said almost nothing. Luckily there's the internet.
