A Royal Navy chief petty officer who trawled the internet for an 11-year-old girl to have sex with has been jailed for two years.

While colleagues risked their lives in the Iraq War, 20-stone weapons expert Jeremy Pepper was discussing his sordid needs with British and American undercover police posing as paedophile contacts.

During months of sick email demands, the increasingly desperate pervert, who lusted after children as young as six, made it clear "child sex tourism" featured high on his depraved list of desires.

At the same time, the 32-year-old Plymouth-based sailor did everything he could to stay one step ahead of the law.
