Franken challenges O'Reilly to bowling
Sept. 30, 2004  | New York -- Who's the kingpin, Al Franken or Bill O'Reilly? If Franken had his way, the answer would be decided with a bowling ball.

On his radio show Wednesday, the satirist-commentator challenged the Fox News commentator to a "friendly" bowling match.

snip...

"If Kerry and Bush supporters can put aside their differences for a day to compete, well then, so can Bill O'Reilly and I," Franken said.

snip...

Rob Zimmerman, a spokesman for Fox News Channel, told The Associated Press: "Bill O'Reilly is not going to respond to anything Al Franken says."

2. Nobody gets Bill's blood pressure up better...
then Al Franken.

Now O'liely may have been up for an old west shoot out like he claimed he wanted to do to Franken, but maybe not even that considering I heard Franken is pretty good with a pistol.

4. New rivalry is a brewin'
Last night's Daily Show should have O'Reilly's panties in a bunch. Stewart "reported" on a separate poll and study showing that Daily Show viewers are, respectively, more well-educated than O'Reilly's and more knowledgeable than cable news viewers.

Can't wait to hear O'Reilly talkin' trash about Stewart and The Daily Show, now.

21. Can you imagine how purple and blotchy O'Liely's face would be
every time he rolled a gutter ball against Franken?

What a blowhard wimp Willie is.

Can't even walk into a bowling alley.

9. totally inane
am so sick of the junior high mentality between Franken and O'Reilly.

O'Reilly has already come out saying he's pro gun control, anti death penalty, pro civil unions and thinking of voting against Bush...what's the point?

11. Yeah, you're "right" --
I also heard him say "I don't know who I'll vote for..." (then, he had Bush on his show for three consequetive nights)... can't we just let up on the guy?

Tut-tut

God he's as dispicable as * to me...did you see the Daily Show where he was saying "nobody told me what to say, THAT'S impressive!" Jon S. was like NO IT'S NOT IT'S AN INTERVIEW THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO TELL YOU WHAT TO SAY~!

God....he's one of the main "journalism assassins," just playing to the knuckle-draggers...

19. nah, he's just trying to get under O'Reilly's skin. And he enjoys it,
apparently. O'Reilly, who has no sense of humor like all republicans, can't deal with Franken at all.

15. Franken does it because he's good at playing the fool...
it's what comedic writers/actors do best. O'Lielly is out of his depth whenever he comes up against Franken because Franken doesn't care---he's in his element playing the cut-up. O'Lielly's too caught up in trying to portray a newsman on tv and posturing himself as 'credible' to not take everything Franken says/does seriously.

18. Yep....Olielly has given soooo much
equal time to Kerry. He may not be sure who he's voting for but he certainly spends an inordinate amount of time kissing Bushes ass. Get a grip.

10. What's O'Reilly afraid of?
If he's just a blue-collar working class stiff as he claims, he should be a pretty good bowler.

16. Hire some actor to play O'Reilly then and bowl against him.
Just have the actor yammer non-stop for the entire match and nobody would know it wasn't O'Reilly.

22. Go Al!!!
I get to listen to Al Franken's show over the air in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill "triangle" area of NC on WCHL 1360 AM from 12-3 each day. It's always something to look forward to!

I wish everyone in America had the choice that I do to tune their radios to a local station and hear Al's show if they wanted to. It's such a refreshing change from the choice of "NPR or hate radio" for lunchtime distraction.

Go Al! Keep sticking it to the lying liars!
