Jordan king doubts Iraq elections
Jordan's King Abdullah has said it will be impossible to hold fair elections in Iraq in the current state of chaos.

He told the French newspaper Le Figaro that only extremists would gain if the elections went ahead in January without the security situation improving.

Correspondents say these were remarkably frank comments from a man Washington regards as one of its key allies in the Middle East.

US and interim Iraqi leaders both insist that elections will go ahead.

1. Get this, the latest defense of the elections in Iraq that the LIARS have
come up with is the US held elections during our Civil War. Never mind that weapons now a days can fire continuous rounds of ammunition, rpgs are more powerful than cannons, and communication is instantaneous !

When will the spinning END !!! Have these clowns been inspired by spiderman ??? So much friggin spin.

5. The Confederate States
held elections during the Civil War too, even though a good stretch of their territory was occupied and voting was not permitted there.

They just did the best they could.

6. I am confused...
It couldn't be the 1860 election because the Civil War did not begin until April 1861.

In 1864 the confederate states could not had been eligible to vote since they had seceded from the union.

11. They did have the Gatling machine gun
during the civil war, although it was underutilized and many of the cannons and mortars that were used were much more powerful and deadly than an rpg.

3. The " Iraq Election" is just a way to con American voters
King Abdullah will be allowed to say this because he's a King acting like a benevolent dictator on behalf of the US/UK and his government is one step away from a revolution and they can't indulge fantasies of a fair election.

7. And now, an irrelevant comment:
Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan is a very attractive woman.

FYI...

8. This spells the death knell to their little plans
and they know it. King Abdullah of Jordan is one of our only "friends" in the Middle East. Remember the Abu Ghraib prison scandal? Remember how BeetleBrain got up and apologized to King Abdullah? When he should have been apologizing to the Iraqis and the entire ME. That should tell you something about who we care about over there.

And for him to come out and say that it won't work.....well, William Kristol, looks like your plans have come to a grinding halt. Try again.
