Kerry Iraq Speech Puts His Camp in 'Fighting Mood'
This article confirms what I have felt. Kerry's Iraq speech was intended to rally his base. Rate the article a 5 please.

By Patricia Wilson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Reuters) - One speech may not a campaign make, but John Kerry and his top advisers are pumped up and in "a fighting mood" after the Democratic candidate's aggressive attack on President Bush's handling of Iraq.

The Massachusetts senator, lagging in opinion polls six weeks before the Nov. 2 election, seems to have kicked a habit of pulling his punches at the last minute and showed a new willingness to mix it up with his Republican rival.

From a scathing address in New York on Monday detailing Bush's "arrogance and outright incompetence" on Iraq, to a Democratic fund-raiser and on to a Tuesday morning television talk show where he charged that the president was "in denial," Kerry seems to have found a new lease on political life.

"These guys, they've got me in a fighting mood," Kerry said to roars of approval at a Monday night campaign rally in New York.

8. I watched the press conference on MSNBC
Kerry was excellent, of course. :)

A couple of things about the way MSNBC chose to broadcast it confused me, though.

First, they interrupted Kerry to show Bush walking down a hallway after eating lunch. WTF!?? Was a film of Bush's ass really more newsworthy than Kerry's news conference?

Then, after the news conference, a spokeswoman from Bush's campaign was interviewed. I kept thinking "is this a joke?" She kept repeating Bush soundbytes like a robot. "Stay the course." "We're winning the war on terror." She sounded like a SNL skit parodying Bush. :eyes: It hurt to listen to her. I had to shut it off.

4. Kerry's "new lease on political life" means telling the truth re:Bush
Mark my words - now that Kerry's beginning to remind the sanctimonious, puffed up hypocrites in the press what he's made of, they will be forced to stand up and take notice and report it as such.

Since there is such a lazy, thoughtless herd mentality among them, this will become the new "storyline" ...Kerry's new lease on political life.

I'm happy to see the AP will be the first to get with the 'new program'.

6. "roars" of approval. i trust the msm will keep up
the accurate descriptions of Kerry's events. Seriously,

Monday was definitely his day. first time in awhile i actually watched TV and had to keep switching from c-span to letterman.
his speech was awesome and i give letterman credit in as he let JK take as much time to answer his questions and let him lay out his agenda. he nailed the interview as well as the speech. sorry for restating the obvious but it feels good. peace.
