4. here's the Reuters story
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Reuters) - Florida's highest court ruled Friday that independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader must be allowed to compete in the 2004 election in the state, delivering a possible boost to President Bush.
"In making our decision in this case, we are guided by the overriding constitutional principle in favor of ballot access," the Florida Supreme Court said in its ruling.

6. Good. Now the people, like my parents, who voted for * in 2000, can't
stand him now, yet won't vote for Kerry, will have someone to vote for.

16. tell them my story..........posted earlier
To all Ukrainian Immigrants

please remember your heritage and the reason you came here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a very interesting talk to my dear beautician today!

She said, Bush is not good, but because Kerry is not good either, she is not voting this time!

Shouldn't these people know, how precious it is to be able to vote?

I had a very good talk and said: this time it's not to vote Kerry in, if you don't like him --- it's about voting Bush OUT! And please go ahead to choose in your mind the less trouble!!
Go use your new won freedom and VOTE.......she said, she never got a talk like that and she is definitely going to vote for Kerry, even though she doesn't think he is what she thought to be the next president...............

doesn't it give us something to think about.....?

19. Just goes to show you
There are lots of folks who can be pushed to the polls who think it doesn't matter.

My 80-year-old mother was at a seniors class about "what's happening in the world today" (her description) and she and her friend who as also attending sat down to lunch in the school cafeteria next to another elder who said he didn't want Bush but wasn't that keen on Kerry either so he thought he wouldn't vote. My mother turned to him and said "oh you know you want Bush out so you know perfectly well for whom you'd vote, so JUST GET OUT THERE AND DO IT!"

I gave her a list of all the leading anti-Bush books and told her to introduce her classmates to them--start a "book club" about the Bush administration--and get them active in helping to educate others. She said she'd do it (she's an avid reader, but hadn't heard of any of the books!)

8. Makeup of supe ct in Fla has changed (Jeb)
Apparently, since 2000, Jebbie has been able to appoint several sup ct justices, so now of course he has his puppets to do his bidding.

Is anyone surprised? The entire state officialdom of Fla appears to be lining up to spoon-feed the election to chimp. Nice, huh?

Ralph Nader
Last Update: 09/17/2004 6:06:46 PM
By: Todd Dukart

A state district judge in Albuquerque has ruled that Ralph Nader will not appear on New Mexico’s general election ballot as an independent presidential candidate.

State District Judge Wendy York ruled on Friday that Nader is ineligible to appear on the ballot. She said that under New Mexico law, Nader cannot run as an independent candidate here while running under political parties such as the Reform Party in other states.

The state Democratic Party, who filed the lawsuit, also contended Nader didn’t submit enough valid signatures of registered voters to qualify for the ballot. York rejected that challenge.

10. GOP Knows this helps Bush in FL
he decision could mean a boost for Bush, who polls show is locked in a tight race this year for Florida's 27 electoral college votes with Democratic challenger Sen. John Kerry.

Nader was a Green Party candidate in 2000 when Bush won Florida by 537 votes to clinch the White House, but was spurned by that party this year.

Analysts said most of Nader's nearly 98,000 Florida votes in 2000 would have gone to then Democratic Vice President Al Gore had Nader not been around.

13. Will this really affect anything?
Honestly. The die-hard Naderites weren't going to vote for Kerry in the first place. They would have just sat out in protest. And the rest of the 2000 Nader voters aren't going to make the same mistake twice. They'll put aside their differences and vote Kerry, however reluctantly.

The only Nader voter I know, a guy from work, has made this deal with us. He's not voting until 7:00, and if the results are close, he'll vote Kerry to get Bush out. But if it's a runaway one way or another, he's voting for Nader. That seems like a fair compromise to make, and I'd encourage other swing-state voters to try and convince Naderites they know to do the same.

but by now, you know it..................:hi:

seemes to be true that Nader starts to be senile and running amok caught in his old agenda. Nobody should take him serios, almost feel sorry for an old guy with an lost life-goal!

20. actually no...
I voted in Texas and Gore was in no danger of winning there. I believed then, as I do now, that third parties need to be more involved and that the Democrats have all but abandoned their base for moneyed interest.

This year Bush has tipped the scales by being a radical.
